She is a Certified Clinical Financial Auditor with 5 years’ experience auditing both acute and post-acute care settings. She is also a Board certified Infection Preventionist.

Laurie is a Senior clinical educator with responsibilities that include developing content and training Skilled Nursing Facility and Home Health Agency personnel, helping them understand data analytical software surrounding their assessment accuracy, quality measures, reimbursement, and infection prevention, control and antibiotic stewardship programs.

Recorded when presented live: Steve Vinson is a Senior Financial and Business Analyst for Michigan Medicine’s Medical Group. Steve has been leading the University of Michigan Medical Group Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee since March of 2017. Due to his efforts leading DEI initiatives, Steve was the recipient of the Office of Health, Equity and Inclusion’s inaugural DEI Advocate Award in April of 2018.  Steve co-wrote the UMMG Committee’s mini-grant proposal for their DEI Driver Program, receiving an award for 2019. Steve is also a member of the University of Michigan Voices of the Staff – Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team. Steve has collaborated on many projects with the Office for Health, Equity and Inclusion including panel discussions, DEI workshops and national conference presentations.

Formerly referred to as the “Clinical Financial Audit Workshop,” this CCFA Exam Prep was recorded when presented live: Katie Stanford and Karen Cooper were speakers at AAMAS’s 2020 Virtual Conference. It was designed for the new auditor and/or preparation for the CCFA exam.

Katie is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s of Science in Nursing Administration. She has over 25 years of experience in
healthcare. Her expertise includes managing various types of audits from development of audit criteria to reporting of
results with recommendations for improved documentation, charge practices and compliance

Karen is a registered nurse with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. She has 17 years of healthcare nursing experience including coronary care, clinical office administration, utilization review and revenue cycle. Karen is the lead chart auditor for Bottom Line Systems
