Who do I contact in regards to posting information on the AAMAS website?
We currently allow our members to post information on our website in regards to ads for employment or information on upcoming educational events that will be available to our membership. I recently completed an educational conference or college course. Will this count for CMAS units?
AAMAS has an Education Committee that is a part of the AAMAS Board of Director’s. You can submit information in regards to any educational offering that you have taken and the Committee Chair will have it reviewed to see if it qualifies for CMAS credit. If you are considering offering an educational opportunity you can submit your course material prior to the offering and it will be reviewed for possible CMAS Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). Currently, in order to meet the requirement of 36 hours of CMAS CEU’s for recertification a maximum of 12 CEU’s can come from clinical topics and 12 CEU’s from financial, regulatory, coding, auditing, medical record documentation, legal and health care related topics. Home study courses and on-line learning education courses in health care are limited to 18 CEU’s per recertification period. If you have questions or would like to submit information for consideration please contact Bonnie Arp at

I want to get involved but I am not sure in what area and would need to know the time commitment involved. Where can I obtain this information?
AAMAS has a Mentoring Program which allows a member to be an intern of a current Board Member position or Committee Chair position so a member can see exactly what is involved in the position and what the time commitment would be. The intern requirements are that a person be a member in good standing, commit to participation for one year, and attend one on-site Board meeting and three conference call Board meetings in the year of participation. One half of the room rate for one night for the Board meeting preceding or following a conference will be reimbursed to the intern. If you are interested in applying for an intern position please contact our Vice-President, Pam Pisarczyk at If you are interested in serving on a Committee please check the box next to that Committee on your membership application or contact the committee chairperson.
